How the TankHouse team stays centered in the holiday rush

The holidays can hold so much—beauty, connection, tenderness, and also the familiar swirl of activity that can leave us feeling stretched thin. Around the TankHouse, we’ve been checking in with one another about what helps us stay grounded in the midst of it all. These conversations felt like something worth offering back to you.

Here’s a glimpse into what keeps our team steady this time of year.

“Letting creativity anchor me.”
Co-founder Denise Renee finds her center through creating. During the holiday season, she naturally gravitates toward weaving and crafting. “I always want a creative outlet this time of year,” she shared. “Letting my hands work—stitch by stitch—keeps me grounded.” For Denise, creativity is both a refuge and a way of returning to herself.

“Choosing comfort, choosing myself.”
Massage practitioner Danielle McCoy shared something that made all of us exhale: she gives herself permission. Permission to wear what feels good instead of what she thinks she “should.” Permission to arrive a little late to gatherings meant for pleasure. Permission to let her nervous system lead. And when she needs a full reset, she steps outside. “I go for walks,” she said. “It balances everything—my mind, my body, even my digestion.”

These small practices remind us that centering doesn’t have to be grand or complicated. It can be gentle, spacious, and personal—found in the quiet ways we choose ourselves.

If you find yourself wanting a moment of connection or simply a place to exhale this season, we’re here. TankHouse Community remains a space to land, breathe, and shift yourself.
